When one map can't hold it.
The 24×36 is the largest format in the Artifact line and the only one built specifically for compositions — a season's hero rides, a multi-week tour, a chapter of a career rather than a single day. Up to 12 maps can be arranged across a single frame, each one a distinct route, all rendered to the same elevation accuracy as every other Artifact in the line.
Frame: 24" × 36" gallery format Maps: Up to 12 individual routes, composed across the frame Best for: Multi-day expeditions, full-season hero compilations, multi-year project pieces
A composition, not a print
The 24×36 isn't a bigger version of a smaller piece — it's a different kind of object. Each route is its own map, sized and oriented within the larger composition. Layouts can be a grid, a linear progression, a nested hierarchy, or whatever the routes themselves suggest. The design conversation for a 24×36 is closer to an art commission than a product order. We work with you to build the layout after purchase.
Most owners are commemorating a year, a tour, or a body of work
A full Haute Route week. A self-supported tour across a country. Twelve months of weekend rides that defined a season. A retirement piece marking decades of riding. The 24×36 is the size people choose when the story being told is too large for a single map to carry.
Every custom Artifact ships with NFC
Embedded into the back is a programmable NFC tag. Tap your phone to pull up Strava activities, photo galleries, written notes — a full archive of what the piece represents. The frame holds the routes. The tag holds the story.

FAQ
How many routes can I include? Up to 12. Most 24×36 pieces feature 4–8 routes — beyond that, the individual maps get small enough that detail starts to compress.
Can I add medals to a 24×36? Medal mounts aren't standard on this size — the focus is on the route compositions. For medal-forward pieces, the 13×30 (with bib) or 20×20 (deepset) are the right formats.
Why is the lead time longer? Multi-route compositions involve more design back-and-forth and longer print time. We won't rush a piece at this scale.
What if I'm not sure what I want? A 15-minute consult is strongly recommended for a 24×36. Email hello@typeii.studio or book one after purchase.
