The 20×20 is the centrepiece of the Artifact line. It started as an answer to a specific problem: how do you frame a major medal — the kind with weight, depth, and presence — without it looking like an afterthought? The answer was a deepset square frame, built with extra depth to hold the medal inside the composition, and a thicker 15cm map underneath to balance the whole piece visually.

The deepset construction
The frame depth on the 20×20 is built specifically to recess and hold a major medal — World Marathon Major, Ironman, UTMB, Everesting, anything with serious dimensional weight. The medal sits inside the frame, not pinned against it. The 15cm map is built thicker to match — so the route, the medal, and the frame read as a single, dimensional object on the wall.
This is the size that justifies its space. It's not a poster. It's a piece.

The square format also works for multi-route compositions — a season's hero rides, a year of marathons, a body of work rather than a single day. Multiple GPX files compose into a layered or grid layout across the 15cm map.
Every custom Artifact ships with NFC
Embedded into the back is a programmable NFC tag. Tap your phone to pull up your Strava activity, race highlights, training-block summary — anything that connects back to what the medal represents. The piece holds the route. The tag holds the rest.

Will my medal fit? Almost certainly — the deepset construction is sized for major-medal dimensions. Send us a photo and measurements after purchase and we'll confirm and design the recess to match.
Can I do a multi-route Artifact at this size? Yes. The 20×20 holds multi-route compositions cleanly. Send each GPX separately and we'll compose them.
How does this differ from the 13×30? The 13×30 is a panoramic frame designed around a horizontal route + medal + bib layout. The 20×20 is square, deepset, and built around the medal as the centrepiece — with a thicker map for visual balance.
